Data Sources

All data comes from the VeganBites database, which catalogs vegan restaurants, vegetarian restaurants with vegan options, vegan-friendly coffee shops, and plant-based grocery stores across 43 countries.

Scoring Methodology

Each city receives a composite score from 0 to 100 based on two factors:

Why These Metrics

Venue count measures the quantity of options — more venues mean more choices for plant-based diners. Cuisine diversity measures variety — a city with 50 venues across 20 cuisine types offers a more varied dining experience than one with 50 venues all serving the same cuisine.
