Emerald Espresso is Capitol Hill's crown jewel for vegan coffee culture. The baristas pull shots with the intensity of a city that invented modern coffee obsession, and the all-vegan pastry case is stocked with rotating creations from local bakers. Seattle coffee at its best.
Wayward Vegan Cafe is Seattle's most beloved all-vegan diner, and the weekend brunch lines prove it. Country-fried steak, biscuits and gravy, towering pancake stacks — all plant-based, all impossibly comforting. The kind of place where you bring skeptics and watch them convert.
Araya's Place has been serving vegan Thai cuisine in the University District since the early 2000s, and it's only gotten better. The pad Thai has a perfect tamarind balance, the curries are rich and aromatic, and the lunch buffet is one of the best deals in town.
Harvest Beat is Seattle's most ambitious vegan restaurant — a multi-course, prix-fixe experience built around Pacific Northwest produce. Every dish is a small masterpiece, and the beverage pairings (including non-alcoholic options) are thoughtfully curated. This is destination dining.
Frankie & Jo's scoops vegan ice cream so good you'll forget it's plant-based. Flavors like California Cabin (date, walnut, brown sugar) and Salty Caramel Ash draw long lines on Capitol Hill for good reason. The waffle cones are house-made and the portions are generous.
Chu Minh Tofu in the Chinatown-International District serves staggeringly affordable Vietnamese vegan food. The pho is rich and aromatic, the banh mi are crunchy-soft perfection, and the salt-and-pepper tofu is addictive. You will spend under $12 and leave completely stuffed.
Cafe Flora has been a Seattle institution since 1991, serving refined vegetarian and vegan cuisine in a gorgeous greenhouse setting. The Hoppin' John fritters and the oaxacan tacos are menu highlights, and weekend brunch in the atrium feels like dining in a botanical garden.
Georgetown Liquor Company is the dive bar that went fully vegan and never looked back. The beer list is massive, the nachos are loaded, and the daily specials — think vegan fried chicken and mac — are the best pub food in Georgetown. Unpretentious and unapologetic.
Moonlight Cafe serves generous plates of Vietnamese vegan comfort food in the International District. The 'pork' chops, the lemongrass 'chicken,' and the clay pot dishes are all built on decades of tradition, with textures and flavors that rival any non-vegan Vietnamese spot in the city.
Cascade Brew is Fremont's best-kept vegan secret. The cold brew is exceptional, the breakfast burritos are enormous, and the rotating soup menu sources ingredients from Pacific Northwest farms. A cozy refuge on those classic Seattle rainy mornings.
Seattle's vegan scene is growing fast, fueled by the city's environmentally-conscious culture and its deep connection to local agriculture.
