Slutty Vegan is a cultural phenomenon. Pinky Cole built an empire on unapologetically indulgent vegan burgers with names that make you laugh and flavors that make you come back. The One Night Stand (burger with vegan bacon, cheese, caramelized onions, and lettuce) is iconic. The lines are long because the hype is real.
Herban Fix brings elegant Asian fusion to Midtown with a menu that treats plant-based cooking as high art. The dumplings, sesame tofu, and lemongrass dishes are beautifully presented and deeply flavorful. Date night at Herban Fix is a guaranteed success.
Cafe Sunflower has been Atlanta's fine dining vegan destination for decades. The Buckhead location serves internationally inspired dishes — Thai curry, Mediterranean plates, Mexican-spiced bowls — all with a sophistication that earns its white tablecloths. A pioneer that still leads.
Soul Vegetarian is one of the oldest vegan restaurants in the country, and it remains one of the best. The soul food here — fried 'chicken,' cornbread, candied yams, collard greens — is deeply satisfying and rooted in a decades-long commitment to community health and justice.
Tassili's Raw Reality is a raw food experience unlike anything else in Atlanta. Chef Tassili Ma'at creates wraps, salads, and bowls using entirely uncooked, organic ingredients that burst with flavor. The raw tacos and kale wraps have a cult following. Transformative eating.
Planta Atlanta brings the acclaimed PLANTA brand to Buckhead with a menu of plant-based sushi, pizzas, and creative entrees that consistently wow. The space is sleek and upscale, the cocktails are inventive, and the brunch is becoming legendary in its own right.
Desta Ethiopian Kitchen serves massive platters of injera loaded with spiced lentils, collard greens, and split peas — all naturally vegan and all magnificent. Sharing a Desta platter with friends, eating with your hands, is one of Atlanta's great communal dining experiences.
Dulce Vegan Bakery is an East Atlanta treasure. The cupcakes, cinnamon rolls, and seasonal specials are all plant-based and all outstanding. The Saturday morning rush is real — get there early or prepare to watch the last chocolate peanut butter cupcake walk out the door.
Healthful Essence brings Caribbean flavors to the West End with hearty, spiced dishes that warm the soul. The jerk 'chicken,' curry plates, and fresh juices are vibrant and generous. A neighborhood gem that deserves far more attention.
Hippie Hibachi flips the Japanese steakhouse concept entirely vegan, and the results are wildly fun. Watching plant-based proteins sizzle on the grill with the full hibachi theatrics is an experience you didn't know you needed. The teriyaki and fried rice are excellent.
Atlanta's vegan scene is a movement with deep cultural roots and exciting new energy. Honorable mentions go to Viva La Vegan for creative Mexican-inspired plates and True Food Kitchen for accessible health-forward dining. The city that gave us Slutty Vegan is just getting started.
